PhD research on talent development in Irish football featured as part of a news story for the Examiner by Laura Finnegan, a lecturer in the Department of Sport and Exercise Science at SETU, and course leader, Recreation & Sport Management has been featured in the Irish Examiner newspaper.
Finnegan’s research examines talent development pathways and structures in Irish football. This snapshot of the research focuses on the Relative Age Effect, whereby earlier born players are over-represented within youth football due to an emphasis on physical maturity.
