WIT showcases research of Irish Research Council scholars in partnership with the #LoveIrishResearch campaign.
WIT hosted the All-Ireland Postgraduate Research Conference in Sport Sciences, Physical Activity & Physical Education earlier this year. This was the third such conference and the largest to date, with over 120 delegates and 75 presentations on current research being undertaken at 13 different institutes/universities across Ireland.
The conference featured keynote lectures by Dr Deirdre Harrington (University of Leicester) and Dr Giles Warrington (University of Limerick), with the best overall oral presentation being awarded to SETU postgraduate researcher Fionn McSwiney.
The video below showcases the conference and features several postgraduate researchers whose research is supported by the Irish Research Council, including WIT’s Mark Flynn whose research is investigating the effects of maximal strength training on triathlon performance.
