WIT music staff set up a fun virtual choir project to relieve stress and provide a creative escape from the realities of the Covid-19 crisis

The virtual choir was aimed at amateur musicians who simply love to sing and the response from members of the public and staff from within the WIT community was wonderful.

Audio tracks were recorded individually on phones and other devices with no group rehearsal. These were mixed by WIT technician Cian O'Carroll to produce a four-part version of "California Dreaming".

Mezzo soprano and singing lecturer Bridget Knowles, who arranged the music, said "we are delighted so many people got enjoyment and fun out of this virtual choir project. Singing really does contribute to a healthier body and mind."
