As a solicitor living in London, SETU graduate Kyle O'Sullivan speaks about his time at SETU, from the academic benefits to the social aspect of college
“I am currently a solicitor in London with Slaughter and May where I specialise in corporate tax. Slaughter and May is regarded as one of the most prestigious law firms in the world and was awarded 'UK Tax Firm of the Year’ in 2016. I primarily advise on the tax aspects of commercial transactions, in particular corporate finance, M&A, securitisation and corporate restructuring. I recently moved to London after completing a training contract with Matheson, a corporate law firm based in Dublin.”
“I completed an LLB Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in SETU in 2012. The course covered a broad range of legal topics, including those required to prepare students for professional examinations with the Law Society of Ireland (to become a solicitor which is what I did) and the Honourable Society of King’s Inns (to become a barrister). I found the lecturers very engaging and student-focused which other law courses around the country often lack. I also received excellent career guidance during my time in WIT which substantially contributed to where I am today.”
“The student experience in SETU is second-to-none with a broad range of clubs, societies and events, both social and academic. The friends I made in SETU are still some of my closest friends today.”
