Psychology student Olivia speaks from Graduation 2016 about her experiences so far from being part of the Buddy Group and assisting suicide prevention
Psychology student Olivia Quinn volunteered her time at the 2016 Graduations, where she ushered graduates and family members across the building and ensured the day ran smoothly for all involved.
“I’m really enjoying the day, it’s hectic but really exciting. It really is nice seeing everyone so happy receiving their degrees because that will be me next year. I’m from Louth so it is a long drive but I still go home regularly.”
“I’m not too sure where I’m going to end up but I think, depending on marks I may go on to do a Masters in Psychology.”
“Last year I volunteered with the Genzyme Buddy Group and went out to primary schools teaching science subjects. I am also qualified to speak with suicidal people having received a certificate for suicide awareness.”
