Currently studying his Masters in Law, SETU Law graduate Gerry Considine praises the degree for the transferable skills and knowledge it gave him
“I chose to study the LLB Bachelor of Laws degree in South East Technological University (WIT) as I had a keen interest in the law and it provided the modules I would need to pursue a career as a solicitor. A major factor that swayed me to go here was the student-focused classes and the opportunity to interact one-on-one with some of the best law lecturers in the country.”
Knowledge gained
“The course in SETU provided me with a solid knowledge in law and a range of transferable skills which gave me the confidence to embrace new challenges. The continuous assessment method used in many of the degree topics has been invaluable in preparing me for the research and work ethic required to complete a Masters. Many of my fellow students who attended other Universities had little experience doing independent research projects and presentations so from that point of view SETU law is very progressive.”
“I intend sitting the FE1s for entrance to the Law Society next year. I am currently studying for my LLM in International Commercial Law in the University of Limerick, along with 5 of my SETU classmates and I am thoroughly enjoying it.”
To prospective students
“To any students interested in attending SETU, and in particular the LLB course, I can honestly say that you will not regret it. For those wishing to continue their journey into the legal professions after the degree, this will provide you with the skills and knowledge with which to become a solicitor, a barrister or an academic, as well as the capacity to pursue a multitude of other non-law career possibilities.”
