Roisin O' Shea, a doctoral scholar in family law, supported by the Irish Research Council, has been awarded joint-second prize in the Innovating Justice Awards, by the Hague Institute for the Internationalisation of Law in Holland. Her paper, An EU Family Justice Model, secured 2,999 votes in the public vote, which put her through to the final 12, from which her entry was selected for second prize.
Ms O'Shea, who will shortly complete her PhD at Waterford Institute of Technology, said:
"This was an incredible opportunity to meet like-minded researchers and entrepreneurs who all have a common goal of addressing access to justice issues worldwide. I hope that the award will lead to funding for our project, which will be based in Waterford."
