Chinese New Year celebrations at WIT

WIT Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and the Malaysian Students Society (MSS) put on a fantastic show combining heritage, culture, music and some very tasty food to celebrate the Chinese New Year 2017.

The event opened with inspiring and poignant welcomes from Dr Tom O’Toole: VP of International Relations and a representative from the Malaysian Students Society.

Those in attendance were treated to some emotive Chinese music and songs from our talented, diverse, multi-cultural students. First and second year students on the BBS with Chinese Language Programme sang a much-loved Chinese heritage song about the Jasmine flower and Miss Ping Li: Chinese language lecturer for making it happen.

Crowds enjoyed a martial arts performance by an international student from Nanjing University of Information Technology.

There were lots of tasty food samples available on the day orchestrated by visiting scholar: Mr Roy Dong from Qingdao Hotel Management College in China.
