Padraig advises students make the most of their placement - each student gets the chance to complete a 30-week paid industrial placement in third year
Construction Management & Engineering prepares students for responsible engineering and management roles in all phases of construction projects. It emphasises management, engineering and technological techniques useful in organising, planning and controlling the activities of diverse specialists working in the project environment of the Irish and international construction industry. One of the benefits is each student gets the chance to complete a 30-week paid industrial placement in the second semester of third year.
Placement
Padraig Flynn tells us about his placement and how it has a major role in the course. “You learn lots during your placement as its very hands on and it can open opportunities for you when you graduate," he says.
While Padraig chose to do his placement in Dublin he many of his classmates went abroad. Padraig describes how some of his classmates did do placement in the UK and are currently very busy in England. He hopes to join them or travel to the USA.
