Hazel Farrell talks to WRLFM
Waterford New Music Week is an annual festival which celebrates and promotes contemporary music in formal and informal settings throughout Waterford city.
Contemporary music performances are of an international standard, there are performance and professional development opportunities for emerging and established musicians and composers as well as a programme of participation for active young people and active ageing groups.
All daytime events are free and a variety of city venues are used, including the Central Library, WIT campuses and Garter Lane Arts Centre.
Now in its 17th year, the event is presented by the Department of Performing & Creative Arts in the School of Humanities at WIT and Garter Lane Arts Centre and is funded by the Arts Council and Waterford City Council.
