Why SETU? In this current competitive environment one has to be market ready and the Master’s Program at SETU has helped me to achieve that. It’s important to differentiate yourself and a Master’s degree in International Business (MBSI) is a great way to do so. The MBSI course has exposed me to an ocean of knowledge about business functions and how it operates at global scale.
The MBSI course is well designed and has helped me to improve conceptual, technical and human skills, both the qualitative and quantitative skills. Studying in SETU campus at Waterford, Ireland is a great experience where one gets the opportunity to study literature and also apply the same. The leadership series where business professional shared their experiences has helped me immensely to relate what we were learning in class. To be a successful business professional it’s important to understand the culture and the opportunity to study for a week in France has helped me to be more cultured professional.
Furthermore the dual degree aspect of the MBSI program is a unique and enriching concept for a business student. The MBSI dual degree gives opportunity to study from South East Technological University, Ireland (WIT) and from Brest Business School, France (BBS). This opportunity has helped me to learn from peers and professors from all over the world. Also the opportunities are not limited, the opportunity to serve as SETU International student Ambassador has been an enriching experience for me.
The facility of the SETU campus has everything to accommodate the needs of a student both educational like libraries and social like sports complex. The Waterford city offers a great cultural extravaganza and numerous internship opportunities. The close proximity of the city to Dublin has helped me to gain an internship experience in a firm during summer break which was great.
The study opportunity abroad has helped me to follow my passion and I found a place in Facility Management profession* at my home country India. The learning’s from MBSI has helped me to blend the cultural aspect and business management aspect (strategic and operational) into my daily work environment of facility management and office workspace design.
In brief I can say that say that the choice to study MBSI at SETU, Ireland has been an enriching and life changing opportunity.
Hometown Bangalore, India - It's the Silicon Valley of India, garden city or simply can put as city of Joy. Ireland and India share similar cultural values enriched with rich heritage and friendly atmosphere. So for me Ireland has become my second home away from home and a land of opportunities.
Advice for future international students The MBSI programme had a range of modules to help passionate professionals or graduate students in gaining experience and insight into the global world of business. The MBSI programme allows students to work and learn from lecturers who worked for multinational companies and have that first-hand international business experience through double degree from BBS. I would highly recommend this course to students interested in developing global career opportunities.
Future plans I have brought back home an enriched experience from SETU both academic and cultural and currently working on to apply those in my business case development, hopefully creating jobs locally and globally.
