The 20th Annual PriceWaterhouseCoopers Scholarship Award ceremony took place on Monday, 5 November 2018. Martin Freyne, Managing Partner of PWC, presented the award to the 2018 recipient, Heather Duff White. Merit awards were also presented to Oonagh Bowe, Conor Duff and Sarah Grace.
High achievers
The PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) Scholarship is an annual award given to a high achieving student who has completed Year One of the BA (Hons) in Accounting programme.
Although primarily based on academic achievement, it also involves an interview process with PWC, who then award the scholarship based on the combination of both. In recent times, Merit awards have been given to other high achieving students.
Successful futures
The Scholarship has been running for 20 years and many past recipients have gone on to train with PWC and to pursue very successful careers in the accountancy field.
Paul Treacy, Programme Leader said: “Being awarded the PWC Scholarship and Merit awards is obviously a fantastic achievement. Looking back over the last 20 years, it is also more often than not the first step on the path to a very successful career in Accountancy.”
