28 million euro redevelopment project at Waterford Courthouse visited by Civil Engineering students

Last Tuesday October 4th Mr. J. Byrne accompanied by the 1st 2nd and 3rd year Civil Engineering students visited the Waterford Courthouse.

This visit was facilitated by BAM Ireland.

The 28 million euro redevelopment project is currently being undertaken by BAM and funded under the Public Private Partnership initiative. This historical site is currently being renovated and excavated.

Senior site engineers Derek Nolan and Barry O Leary former graduates of Waterford Institute of Technology gave the students a very detailed and informative tour of the full site.

The students found this site visit very beneficial as it included many of the technologies and designs covered on their programme.

This was one of many site visits that students engage in to expand their practical knowledge of the industry.
