Construction Management graduate Hugh went from strength to strength while studying at WIT including winning the CIOB challenge with three classmates
“I came from a construction background, mainly carpentry, and following the down turn, I decided to upskill in a field I knew.”
“I started working with BAM Construction in Dublin once I finished studying at WIT, this was because I had the degree and because I spent my seven-month work placement with them. I chose the course because of the reputation it had, lots of top guys in the industry had done this course and spoke so highly of them. Also, the fact that I had the opportunity to do a seven-month placement helped big time in choosing the course.”
Awards
“My time at WIT couldn’t have gone better really. I won runner up for the best dissertation with Sisk as well as runner up for the Clancy Award for my placement with BAM. Myself and three others from my class won the CIOB student challenge. We were in a four-hour competition against seven different IT’s and Universities as well and we came out on top.”
