On 21st-24th May 2015, Dr. Marie Claire Van Hout, CODEMISUSED Principal Investigator and Co-ordinator rececently delivered a lecture entitled: "CODEMISUSED: CODEINE USE, MISUSE AND DEPENDENCE" at the Fifth Croatian Congress on Pharmacy which took place in Rovinj, Congress Centre Cap Aureo.

With the theme Pharmaceutical Excellence dedicated to Health!, The Croatian Pharmaceutical Society, in cooperation with Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb and Croatian Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices organised the Fifth Croatian Congress on Pharmacy with international participation, hosted in Congress Centre Cap Aureo.

The scientific and professional programme of the Congress was designed so as to include interesting lectures by invited eminent international and domestic speakers, as well as a number of poster presentations. The aim was to present the latest research results in the field of pharmaceutical and related sciences along with achievements and aspirations in pharmacy practice.

New findings and constant advancement of pharmacy and related sciences as well as changes imposed on pharmacy practice, call for life-long learning, exchange of experience and collaboration in all segments of the profession in order to contribute to its development and efficiency.

To address these advancements, the organisers invited scientists and specialists, engaged in research, development and effects of medicines, medicinal products and food supplements, their quality assurance, regulatory monitoring, pharmacoeconomics, development of clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care within the community and hospital pharmacy practice, to present their latest research and professional results at the Congress, with the ultimate aim of increasing benefits for patients. The Congress was also open to those involved in all types of undergraduate, graduate and continuing pharmacy education.

The Congress provided an extremely invaluable opportunity for the CODEMISUSED project to disseminate its research and get involved with the wider research community on an international platform. It also gave Dr. Van Hout an opportunity to take part in some relevant training.
