Assumpta began her time at the Institute studying on the Higher Certificate in Legal Studies which led to the BA in Legal Studies and then on to the level 8 Law and business degree. Assumpta describes her time in WIT as an enjoyable and rewarding experience saying, “The whole college from staff, students, clubs and student life has left a lasting impression on me. The lecturers in the courses provide a great support to the students and are always available to give advice whenever needed. I would not have graduated with distinctions from both courses had it not been for them. I will always be grateful for their help and I will never forget my experience of studying in WIT.”
Gerard O’Herlihy, partner in Nolan Farrell & Goff, presented the prize and €1,250 bursary to Assumpta saying that the award provided the firm with a great opportunity to recognise the achievements of future legal professionals who will work in the southeast and beyond.
“This is the eleventh year of the annual merit prize being awarded to a student at WIT and we are very pleased to partner with the Institute in supporting this tradition. The merit prize recognises the achievements of a particular student and this year’s recipient, Assumpta Hayes, has demonstrated particular excellence in her studies.
