What did you like about WIT?
The small class sizes, it means more one on one between the lecturers and the students so if you are finding something hard they will give you a lot more time, sometimes they’ll sit down with you after class, and give you a hand.” These are the main things that stood out to Darren when studying in WIT.
Was work placement beneficial?
When speaking about work placement asked if it helped him within his course Darren said “100 percent, definitely because when you get to go on your work placement you get a real life situation, what you learn in college you get to put into practice and apply it. And it’s through applying it you get to learn more skills which you can carry over to your final year and use it as a graduate in your proper full-time job after college.”
What advice would you give to someone thinking of doing your course?
“I’d 100 percent recommend it, if they are really thinking of doing it I’d recommend they talk to someone that has been in the course and been through it, and that can kind of prepare them of what’s to come, the exams that they’ll have to do, the assignments that they’ll have to do and so on.”
Did you enjoy your time in WIT?
"It’s been brilliant, the social life is excellent, the college life is good, there’s a homely feeling around the college, even around the library as well, you go in and you are doing your work and you kind of know everyone, you’re saying hello here and there”
“I’m sad it’s finished to be honest, it’s been the best four years of my life, I’d love to go back and do it all again.”
What are your plans now that you have graduated?
Darren spoke on what he plans on doing “For the moment I’ll stay where I am working away. I’m working towards getting charters, I’ve started my APC In quantity surveying at the moment, in the coming years maybe do a bit of travelling or something.
