WIT Vikings Scholarship athlete explains the benefits to being a part of the programme and how it has helped him thrive both on and off the pitch
Darryl Walsh who is a current student studying the Ba (Honours) in Business (Common entry) economics stream has been able to benefit throughout his time at WIT by being a part of the WIT Vikings Sport Scholarship programme.
Supports
Darryl plays football for the WIT Vikings in the college and with his club Cobh Ramblers, the supports that he has received as part of being on a sport scholarship have helped him excel both on and off the field. One thing in particular Darryl mentions is the support from the team in the sports office and being able to go through them to get grinds in areas that were tougher for him in certain modules.
On the pitch
On the field Darryl tell us that the level of football is “League of Ireland level” when playing and training with the WIT Vikings teams and he has only gotten better as a player because of this. You can hear more from Darryl below.
Darryl like many others has thrived as both a student and an athlete while being a part of the WIT Vikings Scholarship programme. You can see all the other supports which they have available and how to apply through the WIT website.
