The electronic course that I completed in WIT are extremely hands-on and can be a great stepping stone for a fantastic career within the Electronics sector.
As a design evaluation engineer in a semiconductor company my role is to characterise a new cutting edge piece of silicon during the development stages prior to product release.
To carry out the measurements needed for characterization a requirement of my job is to develop hardware and software to communicate with, and test the product. When the data is gathered it must interpreted, presented and communicated to a wider team in an efficient and effective manner.
The diverse range of modules and the many projects completed in the Level 6 and Level 7 courses provided me with the skills that I now require on a day to day basis. Circuit theory, circuit debug, hardware development, programming skills, time management, presentation skills are a few of the competencies/skills that I learned from my time in WIT. These skills are widely valued and can be utilised across many departments within the company I work for. The level 6 and level 7 courses provided me with the tools required for industry as well as a great launchpad for a career in electronic engineering.
