Composer, pianist and WIT lecturer Dr. Marian Ingoldsby was featured at the recent Finding a Voice concert series funded by the Arts Council of Ireland. She was invited to discuss her recent compositions and the challenges facing female composers in Ireland.
The concert programme included Clara Schumann's Trio, played by the Fidelio Trio, and newly-commissioned piano pieces by 7 Irish women composers including Ingoldsby, entitled ‘Reflections on a Theme by Clara Schumann’. The works were premiered by pianist Mary Dullea at Old St. Mary’s Church, Clonmel.
This is the second Finding a Voice concert series. Marian Ingoldsby’s Lament, Everyone Sang (female voice choir), and her AXA International Piano Festival work, Red Shoes, were performed at the inaugural series in 2018.
