Small group sizes and helpful lecturers at WIT benefited BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Biopharmaceutical Science student Emily
Emily Quann graduated from WIT with a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Biopharmaceutical Science in 2019.
Her interest in this course stemmed from her days in secondary school learning about biology. Ever since then she has always had an interest in the topic. She was interested in learning more about biology and was eager to learn new things.
Classes and student life
For Emily, she felt that the course itself was very demanding and had a lot of work to cover that she never had the time to join any clubs or societies. But it is nonetheless a worthwhile course. If you are passionate about the topic, that’s enough.
“They were great and really nice. The group in this course itself was really small and everyone got to know each other really well. The lecturers were really helpful and we all got to know each other really well,” is what Emily had to say about her classes and lecturers.
This is the benefit from having a small group. Many students when they first arrive really get the benefit of getting to know everyone and for them to know you. Even the lecturers.
Focus on studies
From someone who has completed this course and knows what it is like coming in from school and being unfamiliar with college life, Emily has had this experience just like so many students.
She advised those who are interested in this course that “they should stay focused on the course, to keep your head down. You don’t need to doubt yourself as anyone and everyone is capable of doing it. You should strive to finish it once you have started.”
