Commenting on the event, Dr Tom Egan, Programme Director, SETU EMBA notes: “This event marks the 20th anniversary of the MBA programme at South East Technological University. Within our sector, the MBA Programme at SETU is one of the longest running programmes in the country and since its inception, over 200 students have graduated from the course. We consider our MBA programme to be the flagship executive Masters course in the south east helping executives hone their leadership skills and expand their learning horizons in a supportive and knowledge-led environment”.
With many graduates from these programmes occupying positions in companies in Ireland and overseas, there is a strong international dimension to the learning and professional development for students on both programmes.
As Professor Denis Harrington, Head of Graduate Business, highlights: “Students on both programmes have benefited from a dedicated international study programme where for MBS students we have partnered with the Leuven Institute Belgium to provide postgraduates with a week-long study programme to Belgium. We have also developed strong international strategic partnerships with schools in the USA and in China. Our international management programme for the MBA is now facilitated as a week-long residential to Boston where our students take classes and visit/network with US businesses. We have partnered with Babson College and Suffolk University Business School in Boston to ensure that our students have opportunities to learn and develop in an international business and educational environment”.
This year the SETU Executive MBA group were announced All-Ireland Strategy Case Competition Champions for the MBA Association of Ireland National Strategy Competition 2015. Organised by the MBA Association of Ireland, the competition is open to all MBA programmes across Ireland, past winners having included UCD, NUIG and DCU.
