After working as a software engineer in India, Deeksha decided she wanted to move forward with her career goals so returned to education to achieve this
Deeksha Pathak is from India and is a past pupil of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam University, India where she completed her undergraduate degree before coming to WIT for her postgraduate studies.
Prior to studying this programme I:
I completed my bachelor's degree in India, after which I started looking out for Job. I worked as a full time software engineer employee in a reputed organization in Bangalore, India.
My motivation for doing the MSc in Computing (Information System Processes) programme was:
It is truly said that “the secret of getting ahead is getting started". In order to move ahead in my career, I decided to take a step forward and work on my career goals. I was truly determined to it as well. However, financial aspect was a dilemma. This is where the prestigious Government of Ireland (GOI) scholarship has helped me to mitigate my problem and led me move forward towards my goal. GOI scholarship is the initiative taken by Ireland government to help all the needy and skilled students who wants to achieve their dream. I am very thankful to Government of Ireland for offering me the scholarship.
The MSc in Computing (Information System Processes) programme has impacted my career in the following way:
Currently I am pursuing my master's course which will be finished in the September 2021. The course has offered me to understand the various subjects as like business management, project management, supply chain logistics, entrepreneurship and others. Professors at WIT will clear the concepts in such a broad manner that will help to grow the career in any of the related sectors of these subjects.
My advice for adult learners considering this programme at the moment is:
This is a level-9 course that provides the tremendous understanding for the different concepts. This will help to gain the knowledge in different domains. It is quite a beneficial course that will surely boost up the career in future.
Why I would recommend studying in Waterford/WIT:
WIT is one of the prestigious college among several other colleges in Ireland. WIT offers different courses for students in undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD. All the faculties and staffs are very much amiable. During this covid situation, everyone at WIT has provided full support to tackle the problem. I am really grateful to be a part of WIT.
