The Wisdom of Fionn is a beautifully illustrated story detailing a postmodern interpretation of the famous Celtic legend of Fionn mac Cumhaill.

The age-old story of mythical Irish hero Fionn mac Cumhaill has been retold just in time for Christmas.

Waterford Institute of Technology School of Humanities lecturer in applied social studies and social care, Fergus Hogan, launched The Wisdom of Fionn at The Book Centre, Waterford on Friday, 11 December 2015.

The Wisdom of Fionn is a beautifully narrated and illustrated story detailing a postmodern interpretation of the famous Celtic legend of Fionn mac Cumhaill. The book which is suitable for all ages celebrates Irish Spirituality, Celtic Wisdom and our shared mythologies.

“The Wisdom of Fionn is a re-telling of the great Irish story of Fionn Mac Cumhaill and the salmon of knowledge but told with a focus on the hero’s journey and soul quest as Fionn grows from boy to man in search of the beauty of who he was born to be,” explains Fergus.

“As Fionn was fostered the story will have a particular resonance to children who have been fostered or grown up without their biological parents.”

The Wisdom of Fionn is a story for all ages and is available from the Book Centre Waterford and online direct from the publishers: http://www.bookhubpublishing.com/product/the-wisdom-of-fionn/
