WIT Department of Education programmes cater for the needs of both new graduates and experienced education professionals working in the region and beyond
Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) has announced information sessions on postgraduate opportunities in education for people working in education or hoping to work in further education roles.
Information sessions for people interested in pursuing postgraduate study in Education at Level 9 or 10 will take place as part of WIT’s Spring Open Events on Friday 29 March 2019 (5:30-7:30pm) and Saturday 30 March 2019 (9am-2pm) at WIT’s Cork Road Campus.
The information sessions are ideal for teachers or education professionals as well as a new graduate wishing to pursue a career in education, to find out about the range of postgraduate opportunities available at WIT.
Dr Helen Murphy, Head of the School of Lifelong Learning and Education explains that “we offer both full and part-time taught postgraduate programmes at Postgraduate Diploma and Masters level. These programmes are delivered in online, blended, block release and outreach mode, which means that they cater for the needs of both new graduates and experienced education professionals working in the region and beyond. The move toward flexible and blended learning facilitates adult learners who often have to juggle work, personal and study responsibilities.”
Enhanced career opportunities
Dr Mary Fenton, Head of Department of Education, WIT says “Increasingly, we are attracting professionals living and working in the region, who wish to gain a postgraduate qualification in order to enhance their career prospects. We are seeking to offer programmes that meet their continuing professional development needs in a flexible and accessible way. WIT’s Department of Education offers postgraduate research opportunities at Masters and Doctoral level as well as a range of taught postgraduate programmes, including:
