Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) is delighted to announce that JT Magen New York is continuing its long-standing tradition of taking WIT students as interns.
In 2022 seven students from three different honours degrees will be heading to New York for their placements with JT Magen. This will be the 13th year of this successful partnership established originally by WIT Construction Law lecturer Jason O'Riordan and JT Magen CEO Maurice Regan. Jason and Brian met with the students recently to finalise plans for travelling to New York in early 2022.
For 2022 three students from the BSc (Hons) in Construction Management & Engineering, two students from the BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and two students from the BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering have succeeded in acquiring internships with JT Magen.
With an annual turnover of $1.5 billion, JT Magen is one of the leading Construction Management and General Contracting firms in New York, with established offices across the US.
Course leader for the BSc (Hons) in Construction Management & Engineering, Brian Graham said "our partnership with JT Magen has been of huge benefit to our educational activities for many years. Our students have worked on numerous iconic projects in Manhattan and both the work and life experience gained is exception.”
“I’d like to thank my colleague Jason O’Riordan for his hard work over many years in building such a successful collaboration with JT Magen. The fact that we have numerous graduates employed with the company is evidence of the continued success of the internship programme," he added.
