For Evan studying biology at secondary school was the first step into shaping his future in the science world and going on to do interesting projects
Evan Dempsey graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmaceutical Science.
His interest in science comes from his passion for biology which he learned in school. He was encouraged by his biology teacher to pursue it and he has never looked back since.
Diversity in course
It was his passion for science that made this course an easy option for Evan. He said,” I liked that it was a mix of general sciences, you get to choose between physics, pharmaceuticals and biology. I think it is a great that you get to experience them all and then get to choose what you want to study further”.
Having these options available is what draws people in, if they are unsure which path they want to pursue, this course gives them a taste of each one and lets them choose the right one for them. There is great diversity in this course which makes it more attractive to people.
Social life
Evan joined a club since joining WIT. He was a part of the Olympic Weightlifting club. “It was really enjoyable. I had a passion for it before doing it in college. Definitely is worthwhile,” is what Evan had to say about it.
There are many other clubs and societies around, many different types of sports, music, art and drama to be seen around campus.
Classes
Every person experience’s different lecturers and classes but generally all of the feedback is great. Which is no different to Evans’ experience.
“They were really good; the lecturers were extremely helpful. The classes were great too. We had to do a project which I really enjoyed. For my project I looked at physical chemistry specifically about eyes and how to improve the bioavailability of the drug,” Evan said.
