The winners of the annual 'Marketing Student of the Year' awards were announced at a ceremony in the Granville Hotel, Waterford.
Award recipients were chosen on their academic results, presentation skills and their overall contribution to class.
The winners were Neasa O’Brien (BA in Marketing with Advertising & Online Media) and Dale Kervick (Bachelor of Business – Marketing specialisation).
Ann, Liam & Jackie Cusack, proprietors of the Granville Hotel have been sponsoring these awards for the past 23 years. At the ceremony Liam Cusack stated that "the Granville Hotel has had a long standing relationship with WIT and they were delighted to be associated with the leaders in Marketing in the South East. The success of any business hinges on its marketing expertise and this current group of students are the future leaders of Irish Business”.
In his address to the audience Dr Tom O’Toole said: "WIT Business School is delighted that the Cusacks & the Granville Hotel have been involved in honouring the best of our Marketing graduates, particularly given that their own expertise in Marketing is a shining example to our students here today."
Neasa and Dale each spoke individually on acceptance of their awards paying tribute to family, friends and their Marketing lecturers at WIT for their help and support over the past number of years.
In addition to the overall winners, Marketing Commendations were awarded to:
