Gradireland awards are the blue riband event for higher education professionals, postgraduate admissions officers and course providers across the island of Ireland
The MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise psychology which has been shortlisted for Postgraduate Course of the Year Award in the annual gradireland Higher Education Awards & Symposium.
The annual gradireland Higher Education Awards & Symposium will take place on Friday, 22 November in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin. The Postgraduate Course of the Year Award is sponsored by MSD.
Only institute of technology
The Department of Sport and Exercise Science postgraduate course is the only Institute of Technology course to be shortlisted in the health science category and is up against 7 Universities all around Ireland which includes: Dublin City University, Queen's University of Belfast, Trinity College Dublin, University of Limerick, Ulster University, University College Cork, University College Dublin.
Course leader
Ciara Losty is the course leader for MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise said "We are extremely happy to announce that we are shortlisted for the health science postgraduate course of the year. This is a great recognition for the calibre of the MSc in the Department of Sport and Exercise Science and is the only Institute of Technology course in the country to be shortlisted in the health science category. The overall winner will be announced on Friday, 22 November so fingers crossed".
Postgraduate course of the year categories
Submissions for each course category will be shortlisted and judged by specialist panels put together for the purpose of adjudicating on submissions made for these Awards. Panels are comprised of experts in their field, drawn from industry, careers, education and other renowned professionals in each subject area. Gold, silver and bronze awards may be made in all Postgraduate Course of the Year categories (subject to judging panel recommendations).
About the course
The Master of Science in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology provides the student with an in-depth and comprehensive course of study in applied sport and exercise psychology designed to help enhance the sports participation and performance of athletes and coaches. Graduates will have the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to work in the area of enhancing sports performance, sports participation and best practice at a variety of age and performance levels.
