A decade after he was awarded his Fulbright Scholarship to work in the US, a WIT academic was recognised at the 2017 Irish Fulbright Alumni Awards
At this year's Irish Fulbright Alumni Awards (IFAA) in Dublin Castle, WIT's Dr Jimmy O'Brien Moran was awarded the IFAA Medal of Honour.
Dr O'Brien Moran, a lecturer in the Department of Creative And Performing Arts at WIT received his Fulbright in 2007 and was Visiting Professor at Boston College in 2008. On his return he joined the board of the IFAA and, as a board member, has served in various roles over the years from Newsletter editor, Web editor, Vice President and President, from which he retired in May.
He continues to serve as President Emeritus for another year.
