The Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards are the premier national celebration of the outstanding care being delivered in nursing homes in communities across Ireland. The prestigious event honours and recognises outstanding commitment in the delivery of exceptional care to older people and others in need of continuous care.
The purpose of the Care Awards is to promote best practice within the nursing home sector and pay tribute to individuals who demonstrate outstanding excellence and dedication within their field of work. Nursing Homes play a key role in meeting Irish people’s health and care requirements and 24,000 people are employed in the private and voluntary nursing home sector.
“2016 marks my seventh year working in the private nursing home sector. The role I am fulfilling is immensely rewarding and fulfilling. On a daily basis I engage with inspirational people, providing high skilled care within a dedicated health setting that places continuous emphasis upon utilisation and enhancement of my clinical skills and best practice in care provision. I had never intended to work in care of the elderly for such a long period. However once I identified the challenges and accepted the offers for further professional development, there was no stopping me,” says Laura.
