On the 4th & 5th of March 2013 ,the Department of Nursing were delighted to host a delegation from the School of Nursing, Columbus State University, Georgia USA consisting of 17 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students accompanied by University academic staff.
On the 4th & 5th of March 2013 ,the Department of Nursing were delighted to host a delegation from the School of Nursing, Columbus State University, Georgia USA consisting of 17 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students accompanied by University academic staff. The students and staff were on an international visit to explore nurse education and practice in Ireland. During their time in the Department of Nursing at WIT, a number of presentations were made by department staff on topics including health care delivery systems in Ireland, history of nurse education and training in Ireland and current and future developments in nursing in Europe The visiting students also had an opportunity to meet with WIT undergraduate nursing students and participated in discussion seminars on the similarities and differences between nurse education and practice between the USA and Ireland In our two countries. The delegation also visited Waterford Regional Hospital where they we hosted by the Nurse Practice Development Unit at Waterford Regional Hospital
