WIT’s BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science prepares graduates for the pharmaceutical industry where this a strong demand for qualified graduates
The four-year BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science at Waterford Institute of Technology has been shortlisted for a Pharma Education & Training Award in the Pharma Industry Awards 2017.
Since launching in 2014, the Pharma Industry Awards has established itself as the benchmark for excellence for those operating in Ireland's pharma industry.
WIT's Head of Department of Science, Dr Orla O' Donovan said: "We are delighted to have our Pharmaceutical Science programme shortlisted for this prestigious award. We continuously engage with the pharmaceutical companies in the South East and nationally to ensure that the programme is industry relevant and the graduates are work-ready."
The winners will be announced at the Pharma Industry Awards 2017 ceremony on Thursday, 5 October at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin. WIT will be up against the Certificate in Biopharmaceutical Processing - Cork Institute of Technology; GetReSkilled Holdings; Institute of Technology Tallaght; Life Sciences Manufacturing Operations - Cork Training Centre Biopharma Facility; NIBRT and Pharmaceutical MSc Programmes - Dublin Institute of Technology.
The BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science is a four year honours degree aimed at producing graduates for the pharmaceutical industry. Students will be exposed to a broad range of subjects and laboratory instrumentation relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. The course also provides graduates with a range of transferable skills so that graduates are qualified for a wide range of science-based industries.
