The Art and Design show took place at the College St campus with the students projects on display as well as a number of awards being presented
Students from the BA (Hons) Design Visual Communications and BA (Hons) Visual Art held a showcasing event at the College St campus to present their work from the four year degrees to an audience of family, friends and the wider community.
General exhibition
The exhibition was launched on Friday 2 June and runs until Friday 9 June, with access to the general public between 10am – 5pm.
The projects on display came from 10 Visual Art and 23 Design Visual Communications students.
Launched
As part of the proceedings for the evening, a number of awards were presented to students from various sponsors from local and national organisations, with President of the institute of Designers in Ireland and Design Director at HUB, Kim Mac Kenzie Doyle officially launching the event.
Varied collection
On display in the Arts exhibition was a varied collection of work, including sculptural installation, performance, photography, printmaking, digital media and drawing.
The Design exhibition featured industry standard commercial design, which included identity branding, promotional work as well as imaged based work such as photography and web design.
Original pieces of work
Head of the School of Humanities at WIT Marian O’Neill said, “It is an honour and privilege to present this catalogue which sets out some of the work of the BA (Hons) Visual Art final year students. I am extremely proud to recognise the many wonderfully beautiful and original striking pieces of work created by the class of 2017 visual art students. The representations are evident of the many and varied creative skills and talents that our students’ develop and hone while studying visual art.”
