Dr O’Raifeartaigh is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and UK Institute of Physics and a Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies Research Associate
Dr Cormac O’Raifeartaigh, lecturer in physics in the School of Science and Computing at WIT, has been appointed Visiting Associate Professor at the School of Physics at University College Dublin.
Valid for the period 2017-2022, the appointment reflects Cormac’s recent research in the history and philosophy of 20th century science, and his participation in the delivery of the module ‘Revolutions in Science’ at UCD. This course is offered to undergraduates across all disciplines at UCD as part of the Horizons Program, and is based on the ‘Science, Universe and Society’ module taught by Cormac on the BSc in Physics for Modern Technology at WIT.
Cormac has also recently been elected a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a Fellow of the UK Institute of Physics and a Research Associate at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
