Sean Kelly, MEP & former Uachtaran of the GAA, met with Jake Dillon, WIT Masters' student, Waterford hurler and captain of the WIT Fitzgibbon Cup Team, at the European Parliament in Brussels earlier this month.
Mr Kelly met with the Institute’s Masters in Business students as part of their week-long International Study Tour. The 24 strong group also met with the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Phil Hogan, MEPs Deirdre Clune, Mairead McGuinness, Matt Carthy and Sean Kelly, and heard from senior academics from the world-ranked Katholieke University of Leuven. Whilst at the Leuven Institute for Ireland in Europe, the students were featured on the TG4 programme, 7La.
The tour enables WIT students to engage with the international business and political representatives and is an integral component across the masters in business programmes.
