Students specialising in human resource management benefited industry insight into the skills that are essential for a successful career in HR
Final year students studying employment law on their degree in business specialising in HRM were joined by SETU graduate Scott Jevons, Employer Relations Executive at IBEC for their mock employment law adjudication.
The students were provided with a live case and had to prepare and defend a submission for their clients.
Jevons, in the role of Adjudicator provided many challenges to the students during the hearing and gave them a 'real life experience'.
Essential skills
Scott as a graduate of the Bachelor of Business degree in HRM from SETU is aware of the skills that are essential for a successful career in HR.
Scott was impressed with the students confidence and skills and is looking forward to a new case next semester.
''There is an opportunity to do the adjudication online virtually in line with the practices in place with the WRC during Covid 19 restrictions so the show will go on in 2020.''
