Sidelines the annual publication from the SETU Vikings GAA Club has launched its 2018 edition.
This issue of “Sidelines” marks its’ 25th year in existence and inside are articles on all the college teams and their progress in their respective competitions over the past year.
The club is now 36 years in existence and since its inception, has gone from strength to strength and has certainly developed competitively in the third level college competitions.
UPMC sponsorship
Recently UPMC announced its sponsorship of the club for the next three years, until August 2021. As the main sponsor for the SETU Vikings GAA Club, UPMC has exclusive branding rights for all college teams’ gear under the umbrella of the SETU Vikings GAA Club, including hurling, men’s and ladies football, camogie and handball.
Success
Katie Redmond, GAA Development Officer at SETU comments on how the club is doing. "This year, success was achieved in the code of Ladies Football who won the Giles Cup, a win that means the girls have won back to back All Ireland championships having won the Lynch Cup last year. Our Senior Men’s Footballers reached the Trench Cup Final, with our Camogie Team reaching the Semi-Final of the Ashbourne Cup. Our Senior Hurlers along with our Fresher Hurlers and Footballers worked hard and their time and commitment cannot go unnoticed. All in all, things look promising for the coming season," she says.
