The long-standing relationship between Ireland and South Africa and future potential collaboration was discussed
South African Ambassador to Ireland, Yolisa Maya, paid a visit to South East Technological University recently.
Dr Richard Hayes, VP International at SETU, welcomed the Ambassador and introduced her students from South Africa currently studying at SETU.
The long-standing relationship between Ireland and South Africa, was emphasised by SETU and also acknowledged by the Ambassador.
Dr Hayes said, “We were very proud to welcome Ambassador Yolisa Maya to the Institute and to introduce her to our wonderful students from South Africa. We also had an excellent discussion between the Ambassador and our faculty and staff around potential collaboration and co-operation between the university in the south east of Ireland and similar organisations in South Africa. There is much for all of us to learn from one another and the key emphasis of the Ambassador’s visit and our conversations was around how much potential there is in continuing to connect our communities to one another for mutual benefit.”
