Law graduate Jonathan channelled his passion for law and politics through the LLB and has since found employment in a Graduate Management programme
“When I decided to apply for a place on the LLB Bachelor of Laws (Hons) course at South East Technological University (WIT) I was somewhat at a crossroads in life. I was unsure what route I wanted to take but I had a keen interest in the area of law and politics and had quite a desire to learn more.”
Career path
“I chose SETU because it was close to home and I had some friends studying there at the time who highly recommended the college. The wide range of modules which I had the chance to study on the LLB programme have given me both the knowledge and personal attributes to succeed in carving out a career path for myself following graduation.”
Helpful advice
“Each and every lecturer who taught us over the three years was truly committed to our learning and development and were heavily invested in ensuring that we had the necessary tools and support to achieve this. They were always on hand to offer some helpful advice whether that was in the form of career options or advice on choosing optional modules etc. The smaller class numbers are fantastic for interaction and learning and give each interested individual the chance to engage with other students and lecturers alike.”
To the future
“Some four years on from making that decision I am now working in the Legal & Compliance Department for one of Ireland’s leading retailers, Lidl Ireland GmbH / Lidl Northern Ireland GmbH on their award winning Graduate Management Development Programme – a programme which has given me great exposure to all areas of the law and has really tested all the knowledge and skills I acquired completing my degree. I have no doubt that my time in SETU studying on the LL.B. programme has contributed to my career success so far and I could not rate the lecturers and course more highly.”
