Kelly McDermott BA Hons in Applied Social Studied in Social Care graduate was lucky to have the support to come back to college as a mature student
I made the life changing decision to come back to study at WIT as a mature student. Deciding to come back to college was a nerve wrecking thought to say the least.
I’m from Waterford so having WIT on my doorstep made the decision a lot easier. I did not have to travel anywhere to go to college and I had the course and facilities in my hometown.
Coming to WIT, I found that the staff were so helpful. The lecturers were so accommodating and understanding. The attitude and help from the lecturers made the transition from full time work to full time education an easy transition. I have a 9-year-old daughter and changing to full time education for me was a big move.
The attitude and help from the lecturers made the transition from full time work to full time education an easy transition. I loved my course in Applied Social Studies in Social Care and loved my entire experience at WIT.
