What attracted you to study at Waterford Institute of Technology?
I had previously attended open days and was impressed with the facilities and always heard good recommendations from previous students I know. The biggest reason personally was it’s close to home and offers an up to date modern degree.
What words of advice do you have for new students?
Definitely to contact the course director of the course you’re applying for to get a good idea of what the course comprises of and the overall opportunities after graduation. Most of their email addresses are on the WIT website.
What have been the highlights of your college experience?
The opportunities for extra courses on weekends and holidays in the Arena and on campus were definitely a highlight, I specifically enjoyed the level 1 Olympic weightlifting course and the Curtis Mitchell sprint seminar.
What did you like about Waterford as a city to live in/to study in?
It’s a decent size city, not too big or small. There's plenty of amenities close to the campus including gyms, shops, RSC, swimming pool and business parks.
How did guest lectures add to your college experience?
As I said previously the guest lectures/courses were great and definitely added to the experience as they provide you with a view of the industry early on and ways to add qualifications to your CV.
