About me:
My name is Sue O'Brien. I am currently working full time as a Team Leader in Rigney Dolphin and attending WIT part-time in my 2nd year of Higher Cert in Business Studies.
What attracted you to study at Waterford Institute of Technology?
I was attracted to WIT due to its extensive academic programmes.
What was your motivation for choosing this course?
I chose Higher Certificate in Business as I am currently working in a dynamic business and have done so since I was 18. I wish to expand my knowledge and skills in order to evolve and progress in my career.
What have you done in life prior to studying here?
I began working at 16 while still in secondary school and went straight from Leaving Cert to employment.
What words of advice do you have for new students?
While starting a new experience may be overwhelming, rest assured it will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. As long as you put the work in, you will reap the rewards.
What have been the highlights of your college experience?
Expanding my knowledge and skills through amazing lecturers and developing new friendships.
How did you manage your work life study balance?
In order to achieve a good work/life/college balance, I allocate my time wisely by planning ahead and setting aside time for study and also "me" time outside of my work and college hours.
How has this course helped your career development?
This course has developed my knowledge which in turn has enabled me to contribute more to my company.

I cannot recommend WIT enough and I urge anyone considering returning to college to just take that first step; you will be so happy you did.
