First year Sustainable Energy Engineering students recently designed and built a solar panel from concept to live working project.

The students attended the Built Environment workshop and fabricated the frame, panel board and associated pipework. The system was filled with water, where a pipe stat will energize the pump to circulate.

The students will write a report on how they designed and constructed the panel, using the various jointing/welding techniques, materials used and any further improvements that could be made.
