The MSc in Construction Project Management welcomes Mr Martin Stonehouse, Director of Project Management at Turner & Townsend, to give a guest lecture on the use and implementation of project programmes
As part of our ongoing engagement with industry leading experts in the delivery of our Masters Programmes in the Built Environment we were delighted to welcome Mr Martin Stonehouse, Director of Project Management for Ireland at Turner & Townsend, to give a guest lecture on the use and implementation of project programmes on large scale capital works projects he has been directly responsible for. Martin and his team were the recipients of the 'Project Management Firm of the Year award' at the Irish Building and Design Awards 2017 held in the Ballsbridge Hotel on the 7th April and gave invaluable insight into the managerial approach of one of the worlds most successful Cost and Project Management consultancies which employs over 4,300 staff in 97 offices around the world with a 2016 fee income of €489m.
The students were afforded sight of the actual programmes used to deliver multi million euro capital works projects including Zurich headquarters, Knightsbridge student accommodation and DCU masterplan phase 2, 3 & 4 amongst others and were tasked with interrogating these through use of management function and process tools, project controls and programming changes in a workshop facilitated by Martin and John Mernagh of WIT.
We extend our congratulations to Martin and his team on their recent win and wish them continued success in the future.
