Prospective students jam with current BA (Hons) in Music students while using their own instruments at the third WIT Music Student Experience
The Music Student Experience ran for its third year on 8 February 2018. Students from the region were invited to spend the day with course lecturers and students of the BA (Hons) in Music course where they got the opportunity to participate in ensemble rehearsals with current students, perform in a lunchtime concert, spend time in the recording studio, and attend workshops on the entrance tests for the BA (Hons) Music course.
Visit and perform
This year we had over 50 students and music teachers in attendance from the Ursuline, St. Pauls, Adamstown in Wexford, Grennan College in Thomastown, Holy Cross in Strabane, Carlow ETB, and Enniscorthy ETB. All visiting students brought along their instruments so they could get the most out of the experience which focuses very strongly on performance.
"We were delighted to see the musical talent of the visiting students and their teachers who also got involved in the performances. Their engagement with our current students really created a great atmosphere throughout the day and we hope to see some of them in WIT next September on the BA (Hons) Music programme," Course leader Hazel Farrell comments.
