Jarlath McHale is Masters in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology student at WIT and is the subject of a documentary Carried Away: A Porter's Story
A documentary which features a WIT student's experience in South America has been shortlisted for the Best Outdoor/Adventure Film or Video 2017 by Outsider Magazine. In addition Jarlath McHale is a contender for the Outsider Awards 2017: Most Inspiring Person – the Olly O’Neill Award.
Mayo man Jarlath McHale is the first non-Peruvian to walk as a porter in Machu Picchu and his amazing story was recently screened as a documentary throughout Ireland.
Jarlath's love of sports and the outdoor, combined with is interest in psychology, has brought him to study for a Masters in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology in the Department of Sport and Exercise Science. Jarlath recently screened the documentary at WIT and discussed his experiences with students.
