Students from the BSc in Construction Management & Engineering programme recently attended the Construction Manager of the Year Awards in Dublin
Students from the BSc (Honours) in Construction Management & Engineering programme at WIT recently attended the Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA) in Dublin. The awards, which are organised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), recognise the ability of managers in the construction industry to deliver projects on time, within budget and to very demanding standards, celebrating excellence of construction management.
The students
The four students from Waterford, Mark Sheridan, Conor Walsh, Jason Fitzgerald and Anthony Browne, were invited to attend having won the recent CIOB Student Challenge competition in Dublin in November. Reflecting on the awards, Jason Fitzgerald said: "It was great to see that any stage in one's career, there are goals to achieve and award to win...overall the night was a great success and I hope to go to many more over the coming years."
The event
They had the opportunity to rub shoulders with leaders from the Irish construction industry and were presented to the audience by the evening's host, Today FM's Mario Rosenstock.
