WIT welcomes new postgraduate students to the School of Business for a series of induction events to help start their studies and meet other students
Postgraduate students at the School of Business have just completed the first of a series of induction events planned for new incoming students this year.
The event
The first event featured talks on managing self and project study timelines, developing group and presentation skills as well as inputs on the new digital learning platforms with which students will now engage this year in completing their studies.
In acknowledging the changed learning environment this year for postgraduate students, the team also facilitated a teambuilding and networking event online facilitating opportunities for students to get to know each other and build lasting friendships and networks with each other.
Given the ongoing challenge presented by COVID this year, programme teams across the postgraduate courses have been working hard to prepare for the academic year ahead and to ensure that despite the challenge students have an enjoyable and worthwhile experience studying at SETU.
Further supports
To further support students taking the Master of Business and the Master of Business Internationalisation course this year, the team now offer the course in a flexible blocked delivery format.
With this approach, students can opt to take the course on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon (full time) or if they wish, they can also pursue the programmes part-time where they attend one afternoon/evening per week from 2-9pm over a two year period.
There are a wide range of specialist business masters programmes available to students including marketing, human resource management, management, economics and finance and internationalisation. The programmes are of interest to students who are getting ready to launch their careers as well as to individuals seeking to upskill to enhance their employment progression.
Scholarship
This year we are delighted to announce a scholarship programme which will provide a small level of support to high performing students who are taking their postgraduate MBS or MBS Internationalisation courses at SETU School of Business.
We are grateful to a number of company sponsors including Sam McCauley Pharmacy, AIB and Infosys who will collaborate with the school and seek to offer some support to students at this very challenging time for them.
Delivery
While our delivery platforms are different this year, as in previous years, candidates will experience innovative learning methods, undertake practical assignments and acquire the key competencies and skills that will help them advance their careers.
The career path chosen by students will also be enhanced through our practitioner seminar programme, our business simulation and in the close relationships that we maintain with our past graduates and alumni. We wish all our new incoming students well for their studies this year and assure them of our continuing support for the year ahead.
