WIT held its in house ESB Challenge Event recently in the IT Building at WIT, 17 Students took part in the competition this year coming from Electrical, Mechanical/ Manufacturing, Sustainable, Building Services, Civil, Physics and Business backgrounds.
The event this year involved preparing a proposal and giving a 10 minute pitch to the judges, they were asked to propose a design and business plan for an ECO Hostel on Dursey Island off West Cork.
Colm Tynan, David Williams, Andrea Bourke & Mary Doyle Kent were judges for the event and chose Team A as the winning team, congratulations to Jonathon Lowe, Adam Jonas & Eoin Doyle.
Mary Desmond from ESBI spoke to the students before the competition and WIT are extremely grateful to ESB for their kind sponsorship, thank you also to Ann Power for the pictures.
The 4 person team to represent WIT at this years ESB Challenge Event National Final in Dublin on Thursday and Friday 2nd and 3rd of November is as follows: Jonathon Lowe, Eoin Doyle, Darragh Foley & Kelly Fitzgerald.
